DR PETER PURNELL

Peter studied medicine in Perth and graduated in 1990. He completed cardiology training in Perth, Canberra and Geelong before doing a fellowship in echocardiography at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia under Professor Randy Martin. Peter is currently the Head of Department of Cardiology at Joondalup Health Campus.
Peter's clinical interests are heart failure, coronary disease and valvular heart disease. He has a special interest in the evaluation of the patient with heart failure and normal ejection fraction. He performs coronary angiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and runs a regular stress echo clinic.
Peter is the Director of the Joondalup Cardiovascular Trials Inc. This is an independent not for profit research organisation involved in a multitude of cutting edge new trials.
Peter admits private patients to Joondalup Private Hospital and the Mount Hospital and public patients to Joondalup Health Campus. He currently consults at Joondalup, Mount and Subiaco.
